Llodra Got Fined For His Bad Deeds .

Michael Llodra of France left the BNP Paribas Open a little lighter in his wallet after being fined $2,500 by the ATP Tour for verbal abuse during a match.

The incident occurred during Llodra’s first-round match against Ernests Gulbis of Latvia last week. During Llodra’s three-set victory, he was heard by a reporter to have said some racial epithets toward a group of fans.

The tournament later fined Llodra in accordance with ATP rules. A tournament spokesman says Llodra was also verbally abusive toward the ballkids.

Llodra later retired with a knee injury from his second-round match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. He is scheduled to play in next week’s Sony Ericsson Open in Miami

Man City Gets Door Open By Sporting Lisbon's

Manchester City, Despite 3-2 Win Mancity Lost On agg ( 3-3 ) Away Goal win .

Needing four goals to progress, City almost completed an astonishing comeback as Sergio Aguero scored in the 60th and 82nd, sandwiching Mario Balotelli's 75th-minute penalty, to level the aggregate score at 3-3.
City left just too much to do, however, and Sporting earned its spot in the last eight on away goals.
"I'm proud of the performance, (but) I'm disappointed for the two games because I think over the two games we didn't deserve to go through,'' City manager Roberto Mancini said.
The result meant England was without any teams in the quarterfinals of Europe's second-tier tournament, following Manchester United's elimination at Athletic Bilbao earlier Thursday.
"I'm very pleased to go through,'' said Sporting coach Ricardo Sa Pinto. "It gives a good image of Sporting to knock out Manchester City, which is one of the best teams in the world.''
Mancini took responsibility for the defeat, acknowledging that he may have underestimated Sporting.
"The manager is always the person who prepares the game, probably I did some mistakes for these two games,'' he said. "Probably I thought that after Porto (in the previous round) playing Sporting was easy, but in football it's never easy.''
After a disjointed opening 20 minutes at Etihad Stadium, City's frustration grew as the half progressed and the home fans were stunned into silence when Fernandez whipped a free kick into the top left corner of the goal. Fernandez's shot was sweetly struck, but City goalkeeper Joe Hart was partly to blame after creeping too far behind his wall in an attempt to anticipate the direction of the kick.
Mancini was also angry with Balotelli for conceding the needless free kick. "I was disappointed with him because the foul was so-so,'' he said.
Things soon got worse for Mancini's side as Marat Izmailov broke into the box and crossed low for Van Wolfswinkel to finish from point-blank range.
Thanks to Aguero and Balotelli, City needed one more goal to progress. Hart almost produced it, joining the attack and heading just wide with the last touch in stoppage time.
"I can't believe it, I thought it was in,'' Hart said. "We've cost ourselves with the first half, but if we keep rolling now we'll be all right. We're a good team and we've got nothing to worry about.''

Manchester United Hearts Broken

Man utd Lost From  Athletic Bilbao From 2-1 And the aggregate score was ( 5-3 ). Bilbao Kept the possession  And that's what they got deserved . The United manager admitted his side got what they deserved, suffering a 5-3 aggregate defeat after losing 2-1 on the night.
But, with a Premier League title to win, there is no time to wonder what might have been.
"Feeling sorry for myself is not an issue for me," he said. "There is a disappointment but analysing the performances is more important and we have an important game on Sunday."
Ferguson confirmed his decision to replace Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs in the second-half was purely to keep them fresh for the trip to Molineux to face Wolves this weekend.
The Scot had long since abandoned any hope of reaching the quarter-finals as, trailing from the first-leg, United fell further behind thanks to Fernando Llorente's excellent volley before Oscar de Marcos doubled their lead in the second-half.
Rooney's 27th goal of the season 10 minutes from time came far too late to have any effect on the overall outcome.
"I don't think we can complain at the result," said Ferguson. "In the second-half in particular, Bilbao were the better team.
"Their first goal was a bad one for us to lose. You can't believe an English team would lose a goal like that to a long ball. Ours was too late to do anything about it."
The defeat brought to an end a woeful season in Europe for United.
Including six disappointing matches in the Champions League, United won just three of their 10 games in Uefa competition.
Thursday night's reverse also means they have lost three games on the trot for the first time since 2004, and the first of those was a dead-rubber of a group game against Fenerbahce.
It represents a startling fall from grace for a team that has reached three of the last four Champions League finals and Ferguson admits he has some analysing to do in order to find out where it all went wrong.
"Trying to analyse this season against others is a bit difficult," he said.
"There is a route in terms of some of the goals we have lost in these tournaments. They have been pretty poor. It has been a disappointing year."

Michel van den PHF fires

Dutchman Michel van den Heuvel has been sacked as Pakistan s national hockey coach just four months before the London Olympics for breaching his contract. "We had no option but to release him because he breached clauses of his contract with us," Qasim Zia, the president of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), told reporters on Thursday. "The decision to release the foreign coach was a difficult one but we are hopeful the new management will deliver in the Olympics." The Dutchman, who ended Pakistan s 20-year wait for an Asian Games hockey title when he guided the team to victory in Guangzhou in 2010, had been due to stay in the role until after the Olympics but the PHF said he had been fired as he failed to return to duties as scheduled last month. The PHF said he also breached his contract by signing a deal with a Dutch club. Van den Heuvel said his new contract was only effective after the Olympics. "What I know is that I had a contract with the PHF until the Olympics and I expected them to respect it," Van den Heuvel stated.

Charged over deadly football riot last month in Egypt

Egypt’s top prosecutor has charged 75 people with murder and negligence in connection with a deadly football riot last month in the Mediterranean city of Port Said. A total of 74 people were killed after a riot erupted during an Egyptian League football match. Egyptian health officials also said that at least 1,000 people were injured after fans chased Al Ahly soccer players after they lost a match to the home team. The fans cornered supporters on the field in the port city of Port Said and around the stadium, throwing stones and bottles at them, which led to a stampede that killed the 74 fans. The crush followed a pitch invasion when Port Said-based al-Masry beat Cairo’s Al Ahly, the most successful club in Africa, on Feb. 2.
