The Barca official stressed that his side are not afraid of a showdown against Madrid and noted the two clubs should maintain institutional relations.Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner says he wants his side to meet Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.The Catalan club have one foot into the last-eight stage after a 4-0 thrashing of Osasuna in the first leg of their round of 16 tie, while Madrid were made to work hard to pick up a 3-2 victory against Malaga after being down by two goals in the first half.
Barca were defeated by Jose Mourinho's side in the final of last season's Copa del Rey, but Cardoner is relishing the prospect of the two sides locking horns in the competition once again.
"I want us to face Madrid in the quarter-finals, the time for Barcelona's fans to be afraid of them is gone," Cardoner told COM Radio.
"I would be delighted to have more great finals against Madrid."
The Barca director added that despite the constant tension between his side and Madrid, he believes that the two Liga giants should not turn their back on each other.
"I do not defend breaking institutional relations," he noted. "Relations should not be broken, one thing is two clubs not being on the same page, another is to break relations."
