Arjen Robben Extends His Contract with Bayern Munich Of 2 years as The winger wants To play More football In German.The 28-year-old Robben joined Bayern from Real Madrid in 2009, and has been an instrumental player for the German squad. Bayern reached the Champions League final in his first season, and has again advanced to the final this year.
Robben had one season left on his old contract, but the new deal locks him up for three seasons.
"I've always emphasized that I feel very, very settled in Munich and at FC Bayern," said Robben. "This is the reason I'm glad to extend my contract ahead of its expiry.
"FC Bayern is like a family to me. Two of my three children were born in Munich, and my family and I feel at home here. This contract extension is also the right decision for me from a sporting perspective. We have a magnificent team, and I'm certain we'll enjoy the maximum possible footballing success in the years to come."
Robben has 17 goals this season for Bayern, which will finish second in the Bundesliga, and has also reached the German Pokal Cup final. Bayern will play Borussia Dortmund in the Pokal final May 12, and Chelsea in the Champions League final May 19 at its own Allianz Arena.
"We're extremely pleased that we've extended Arjen's contract a year before its expiry by two further years until 2015," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "Arjen is a very important player for FC Bayern, and also a guarantee of the club's continuing success in the future."
