Andriy Shevchenko is set to exit the international stage after playing in a farewell match, the Ukraine legend confirmed after his side’s loss to England on Tuesday evening.Shevchenko, 35, scored 48 goals in 111 international appearances, which included a brace in their Euro 2012 opener against Sweden. But after the Ukraine’s exit from the tournament, Shevchenko announced he is set to retire from international football.When asked if the England match would be his last, Shevchenko told ITV: "Probably. I will play one more game just as a friendly - a goodbye game."Shevchenko was understandably disappointed by the co-hosts’ departure from the European Championship."Of course we are sad because we [host] the competition and after the first game we were magnificent, very good and we won against Sweden," he said. "And when in a group where you have England, France and Sweden it's a tough group. We tried coming out of a tough group and I think we played well."The striker also questioned whether the better team on Tuesday night had won the game after Marko Devic’s shot was not awarded a goal, despite the ball clearly crossing the line before John Terry could clear it."It's difficult to say. We created so many chances and I think we scored a goal. It was a goal. The same thing happened to England in the [2010] World Cup and I think the goal would have changed the game."We controlled the game and we controlled the possession. England won. Congratulations. England are a strong team."England play against Italy [in the quarter-finals] and it will be a difficult game. England are a strong team and you never know what will happen. England can reach the final. France lost. Anything can happen."
