SWEDISH OPEN: David Ferrer The Spanish Seeded No.2 Has Won Title Against Nicolas Almagro The Other Spanish By Beating Him 6-2,6-2 In Just 68TH Min.Two breaks of service in either set did the damage for the Wimbledon quarter-finalist, who faced just one break point in the match as a listless Almagro failed to threaten. The defeat continued the world No10 Almagro's miserable record against Ferrer, which now stands at 11 losses in as many meetings.Ferrer is enjoying one of the best seasons of his career and this was his 51st win of a season that has seen him reach the French Open semi-finals and push Andy Murray hard in the Wimbledon quarter-finals.


HALL OF FAME TITLE John Isner came into the week wondering what was wrong with his game and left with his second straight Hall of Fame Tennis Championships title.The hard-serving Isner put on a performance similar to last year and defended his title by beating Australia’s Lleyton Hewitt 7-6 (1), 6-4 on Sunday afternoon.


STANFORD CLASSIC FINALWimbledon champion Serena Williams advanced to the Stanford Classic final after she crushed Sorana Cirstea 6-1 6-2 on Saturday and will meet fellow American Coco Vandeweghe who made her first WTA final after she overpowered Yanina Wickmayer 6-2 3-6 6-2. Williams, who had a superb service game during Wimbledon, struggled against Cirstea but easily controlled the tempo of the match against the Romanian, who had trouble keeping the ball in court and committed 32 unforced errors. 


MERCEDES CUP FINALThe top seed Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia won his first title of the year by beating Juan Monaco of Argentina 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 in a rain-delayed Mercedes Cup final in Stuttgart. Tipsarevic, the world No8, was the only player in the top 10 not to have won a tournament this year.

BANK OF THE WEST CLASSIC IN STANFORD: Heather Watson and her doubles partner Marina Erakovic won a topsy-turvy match with Natalie Grandin and Vladimira Uhlirova to make the final of the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, California.The British 20-year-old and the New Zealander Erakovic won on a super tie-break to beat the third seeds 7-5, 6-7, 10-7 in just over two hours. They will now meet the top seeds Jarmila Gajdosova and Vania King in the final.


ITALIACOM OPEN: Laura Robson failed to reach her first final on the WTA main tour when she went down 6-2 5-7 2-6 to Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in the semi-final of the Italiacom Open in Palermo. The world No113 was giving away 42 rankings places against her Czech opponent but she more than held her own for the first two sets. However, Zahlavova Strycova rattled off five consecutive games in the deciding set to seal victory. Robson had won the first set easily but the second was a different affair. The seventh game was hard fought with Robson prevailing on serve but, after her opponent held, it was the Czech who broke for 5-4. Robson then immediately broke back for 5-5 and looked odds-on for 6-5 but the Czech broke before holding to level the match and take it into a deciding set.
