2nd Odi: Pakistan Wins Against Australia to Level the Series 1-1

Pakistan have kept their three-game one-day series with Australia alive by cruising to a seven-wicket win in Abu Dhabi on Saturday morning as Australia's bowlers conceded 20 wides in extremely humid conditions. The first ODI game scheduled to be played over two months will be remembered for the 31-degree heat and 95 per cent humidity endured by the players as Australia made 9-248 before Pakistan replied with 3-249 to ease to a big victory with 38 deliveries to spare.Opener Nasir Jamshed's 97 was the match-winning knock for the host side, as Australia's bowlers struggled to control the wet ball in the late-night dew.Spinner Glenn Maxwell's 4.4 overs cost 37 runs.Jamshed hit 11 fours and two sixes in a stylish performance but was cramping badly and played a tired-looking shot to mid-off, falling three runs shy of his second ODI century.Australia thought they had Jamshed lbw to James Pattinson for four, but the decision was overturned after Pakistan appealed for a video review which showed the ball pitched outside leg stump.Mohammad Hafeez (23) was out to a long-hop from Dan Christian at 1-66 and Pattinson bowled Asad Shafiq for nine, but Azhar Ali (59 not out) and skipper Misbahul Haq (35 not out) saw Pakistan home.Australia had won the toss but found themselves bogged down at 4-87 with the dismissals of Matthew Wade (seven), Warner (24 off 68 balls), Michael Clarke (37) and David Hussey (duck).Mike Hussey top-scored with 61, sharing half-century partnerships with George Bailey (39) and Maxwell (28 off 27 balls).Pakistan offspinner Saeed Ajmal gave another brilliant display with a return of 4-32 after his 3-30 in game one, while paceman Junaid Khan claimed 3-52.Pakistan's win was the fourth-highest successful run chase in the 20-game history of Sheik Zayek Cricket Stadium. The match offered the rare situation of stretching across two months given the scheduling to cope with the draining heat.Starting at 6pm local time on August 31, by the time Pakistan hit the winning runs it was 2.30am on the first day of September. The third and final game is in Sharjah on Monday night. Pakistan say they're taking extra motivation from the fact they haven't beaten Australia in an ODI series for a decade.David Warner appeared to be warned by English umpire Nigel Llong to stop rubbing sawdust on the ball.
