The Italy-born midfielder feels it was crucial the Blaugrana eventually stepped their game up, as the high-pressing style of Bielsa's side meant they were left with little choice. "We knew that they always would run more than us, even though we ran a lot, so we had to impose our game [on Bilbao]," the youngster told the press after the match.
Thiago also offered his take on the forthcoming Copa del Rey final between Barca and Bilbao, believing the showpiece event on May 25 will be a very different proposition to Saturday's league meeting.
"There are still a lot of alterations to be made ahead of the Copa final," he mused. "But I'm sure we will see two different teams take to the pitch."
